Yamba is a coastal paradise located approx 2.45 hours drive  south of brisbane, on the east coast of Australia. 

It is home to superb surfing and bay beaches, and being on the 'mighty' clarence river abounds in great fishing and sailing as well and in march 2009 Yamba was voted the best small town (under 50,000 people) in Australia. So the secret is out

Yamba's climate is rated to be amongst the most temperate in the world according to Stamford University and the Csiro. Having a modest rainfall and an average daily temperature of 18.7 deg c in winter / 26.3 deg in summer.    

Yamba is surrounded by national parks and has some great coastal walks listed as some of the best in Australia. You are likely to spot dolphins on Yambas beaches and waterways daily, and in the winter months you can see the migration of humpback whales from one of many vantage points around Yamba or with an organised tour group.

There is a great 18 hole championship golf course which is home to hundreds of kangaroos, which adds some sight seeing factor to your round as well. The biggest (pleasant) surprise is the cost at not much more that $20.00 adlr for adults and less than $10 a round for kids under 18. As the course is on the coast, the wind changes make it both challenging and keep it interesting the more times you play it.
  
The town has a population  of around 7,000 people with lots of parks, cosy little cafes and a good selection of restaurants for such a small town. Yamba has a very relaxed pace of life, and if your after a place for clubbing then Yamba probably isnt for you, but if your after a family holiday and want to enjoy the outdoors and watersports then Yamba is your place and being a small town, prices are family friendly.....and as the primary industry is prawning and fishing the seafood is sensational as well !!!
