things to do

Yamba is set on the mouth of the Clarence river and is a natural aquatic paradise making a perfect breeding ground for prawning. Yamba prawns are famous and can be found on offer in leading Australian restaurants. It also boasts Oysters and fantastic fishing, featuring often in fishing programmes.

You can arrange Fishing Charters if you are serious angler or if you head to the Yamba Marina (about 800m) fm the centre of town you can hire a tinnie (Australian for small aluminum boat with an outboard motor). Bring a handline and catch some fish for yourself . If you happen to not have any luck you can call into the Yamba Tavern on the water or the Pub on the beach at Iluka ….and get yourself a seafood platter. All in all a fantastic time anyway you slice it.
